Yosemite Love Story
Updated: Mar 29
Alayne & Adam - November 9, 2019 - Polynesian Gardens
This couple has such an amazing love story and even more beautiful wedding story. I mean, they were married on top of a mountain at Yosemite National Park! They took two weeks to travel the west coast visiting their favorite places and utilized this time together as their honeymoon. One of the last stops included a day spent at Yosemite National Park in which they were married on a mountain top in time for the sunrise followed by a picnic in the park. Their Yosemite ceremony was filmed and played at their reception for all friends and family to witness. What a beautiful wedding ceremony it was! This couple loves traveling and they incorporated this not only into their ceremony but also their reception.
Alayne found me on Wedding Wire and we had kept in great contact leading up to the reception. Everything was confirmed and ready before they left for their honeymoon/ceremony travel two weeks prior to the scheduled reception. However, little did we know Hurricane Dorian would decide to make an uninvited appearance the weekend of their August reception. In turn, the day Alayne and Adam were traveling back to Florida, it was a mutual decision to postpone the reception until November. I was able to contact all the vendors with the new date and gratefully ALL vendors were able to reschedule for November 9th. Needless to say, I rescheduled an entire wedding in less than 3 hours.
Fast forward to November 9, 2019 their reception was everything they had planned and more. Their theme incorporated nature and instead of table numbers they had locations of their favorite places to travel. I mean, look at their tree centerpieces! I helped finalize the last minute decor and I set-up the escort card/guest book table. I absolutely loved this theme and their photo booth even included a nature backdrop! Everything tied in so well. Love a unique theme.
Guests arrived and made their way to the front of the ballroom on the dance floor which was utilized as cocktail hour. After enjoying open bar and hors d'oeuvres guests made their way to their seats and Adam and Alayne's ceremony video was played. Followed by the video, they were introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Leal and shared their first dance together in front of family and friends.
The reception included a delicious buffet, coffee and cake followed by a lot of dancing! They had a special moment with Adam's mom in which they gifted her a sweet frame as a thank you, followed by a mother-son dance. The night ended with an optic wand send-off celebrating the happy couple.
My favorite highlight of this wedding was their announcement that they were expecting!! Alayne had told me weeks before the reception that she was pregnant and this announcement was so sweet and special as they shared the news with their friends and family all together!!
Alayne and Adam, thank you for allowing me to coordinate your reception and trusting me with postponing your wedding due to Hurricane Dorian. Your love story is so special!!
